At Hawthorn Grove, we intentionally maintain ratios that exceed the State of Ohio requirements. Along with full-time classroom teachers, we also have floating assistants who provide additional support and care throughout the day.

• Seeds (0–12 months): 1:4 (3:10), max 12

• Sprouts (12–20 months): 1:4 (3:10), max 12

• Seedlings (20–28 months): 1:5 (3:14), max 14

• Saplings (28–36 months): 1:5 (3:13), max 13

• Nursery (3–4 years): 1:8 (3:24), max 24

• Grove (4+ years): 1:10 (3:28), max 28

We prefer to schedule tours between 9:00 AM and 12:00 PM, after morning drop-off. That said, we’re happy to accommodate other times - just reach out to schedule.

Yes! Hawthorn Grove offers year-round open enrollment as space allows. While each classroom follows a curriculum map (with preschool programs being more sequenced), our approach is designed to meet children where they are and grow with them.

Our promise is that children leave Hawthorn Grove with the academic and social-emotional skills needed for kindergarten readiness.

We believe strong communication is essential. In addition to in-person, phone, and email communication, we use the Famly app for daily updates, photos, lesson plans, messaging, and secure check-in and check-out.

Yes! Outdoor play is an important part of our daily routine for all age groups. We encourage children to come prepared for most weather conditions. On days when outdoor play isn’t possible, children enjoy movement and gross motor activities in our indoor motor room.

We understand that families have varying schedules. However, for our Seeds and Sprouts classrooms, consistency is especially important. Daily attendance supports secure attachment, routine, and developmental success for our youngest children, which is why we do not offer part-time schedules in these rooms.
